A simpler data platform.

End-to-end platform ownership and improvements to legacy data architecture, supporting business and product needs.

Role: Senior Data Engineer. Scope: Platform ownership and architecture improvement. Selected technologies: Python, AWS and Redshift.

This work comes from Eslam’s previous consulting experience.

The context

The company’s data platform supported both business and product needs. The assignment covered ownership of that platform and improvements to its existing architecture.

Eslam’s contribution

Eslam owned the platform end to end and optimized its legacy data architecture. The responsibility connected the company’s data requirements with the infrastructure used to support them.

The outcome

The architecture improvements reduced infrastructure costs. The work is an example of improving an established platform while taking responsibility for the wider data environment.

Where this experience is relevant

A platform that needs clearer ownership, a review of its architecture or a practical route to lower infrastructure costs. The appropriate changes depend on the system’s workload, constraints and business requirements.
